Triple B Care Projects
Burns injuries are amongst the most painful and difficult injuries to treat. Without proper care and treatment these injuries can often result in serious infections, possible amputation of limbs and sometimes a even a slow painful death. Victims are often children and usually from poor villages and rural areas where families are not able to afford the necessary care required for a full recovery. Val Smith-Orr, a Australian Registered Nurse and British trained specialist in Burns care &reconstructive surgery has been tirelessly working in the local community in a small 2 room facility to provide an International level of emergency and ongoing care to literally thousands of burns victims since 2006. This year she was recognised in the Queens Birthday Honours list with an Order ot Australia Medal for Service to the international community through nursing. |
