Burn first aid is simple in theory. But in real-world settings, it is often shaped by culture, resources, and access.
In this issue of theInternational Journal of Wound Research,Val Smith-Orrand Evelyn T. Reyman present a powerful example of how evidence-based burn care can be translated into practice in low-resource communities.
In their brief report — “𝗜𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗘𝘃𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲-𝗕𝗮𝘀𝗲𝗱 𝗕𝘂𝗿𝗻 𝗙𝗶𝗿𝘀𝘁 𝗔𝗶𝗱 𝗶𝗻 𝗮 𝗟𝗼𝘄-𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗼𝘂𝗿𝗰𝗲 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘆” — one message stands out: education only works if it is feasible.
